The tavern is a cozy spot with a fantastic beer selection and delicious food options like burnt ends and sliders. It's a great place to enjoy a chill atmosphere, friendly staff, and catch a game on one of the many TV screens. The neighborhood gem feels like an Irish pub with a cool interior and is definitely worth a visit.

I really like old northeast tavern. The food is really good and on the healthy side. The bar has a real home type feel to me, like bars from back home up north. However I really don't recommend going there because of one major flaw. There is a bartender there named 'matty' or 'maddy', it's a guy, and he has ruined my experience for me. He won't give you a cold glass, is very short with his comments, doesn't care about you and your experience - just wants to hang with his friends that are the locals (they're locals because they're his friends).

The type of service I get with him as bartender has hindered it impossible for me to go there.

If you're looking for a good beer and good atmosphere keep traveling to downtown st. pete a few blocks and hit up 'The Independent' - support an establishment where the customer is always right. A friendly good place. A place like home.
