06/03/2023 - Happy employee
I started working for the new owners April 2023
I must say this mother , daughter duo really are wonderful people to work for . They took over the Red Onion the end of March 2023 and have kept everything the same food wise as the previous owner who I also had the pleasure to work for. They treat their employees like family and they are very caring and are always willing to listen to new ideas or concerns. If you’re looking for a place to work I recommend you come in and speak to one of them.I enjoy going to work every day and love working in this kitchen.😊

I worked under the first owner and the new ownership. I can definitely say that the first owner really cared about the quality of the food and his staff. He made sure the restaurant ran like it should. He made sure the food was portioned evenly, cooked correctly, meat and cheese were always cut right. When the new owners took over they were making burnt, raw, unpresentable food. It was embarrassing to put out. It was hard working under the new ownership because any concerns brought up was never changed. It’s disappointing that it has come to some employees getting wrongfully let go or couldn’t take the mistreatment anymore. Hopefully they will remember how hard the first owner worked as well as the old employees to make it one the best sandwich shops in Vero Beach.

I've worked here and I've eaten here and I could tell you a couple years ago I would have definitely recommended it to anybody. Now with the new ownership I wouldn't suggest it to anybody let alone for anyone to work there, not only is the woman who runs the back extremely scatterbrained but she verbally abuses employees. I had a lobster roll made for me there and I pulled out a long hair yeah that one made me throw up 🤢. And anybody can walk back there and see she doesn't have her hair put away and numerous other health code violations cross-contamination with the seafood in the walk-in, and I don't suggest working here because you're probably going to be fired and rehired multiple times throughout your time working here.
