Very disappointed

Was told to find a new restaurant after we asked why handicap access was not available. Extremely rude service. We have been patrons for over 40 years . the only way to the dock is through the tiki bar. It was chained off.

As much as I do not like to leave bad reviews, and knowing how detrimental they can be, I was given no choice after my visit on 3/27/21. Recently, I moved to the area and drove by the restaurant several times inspiring me to want to dine there. So I went on this past Saturday night with the wife for a relaxing dinner on the water. I was ok with the 30 minute wait to get seated as it was a Saturday night. I am also admitting that there was a sign at the front desk that stated it would be a 40 minute wait until food would be ready. The wife and I were seated, given the menu and then we waited. Fifteen minutes later someone finally came to take our drink order. After receiving our drinks, we put an appetizer order of chips in at approx. 6:26pm. I figured since the food would take 40 minutes as the sign said, then an appetizer would keep us occupied. Well......45 minutes yes 45 MINUTES later we received our appetizer of chips. It may have been good, but we were not given but three minutes when out comes our meals. We had to put the appetizer aside so as to not let our meals get cold. Our meals were actually pretty good, however my wife was shorted one of her sides. We did not see the waitress again to ask if everything came out ok until after we finished our meals. When she finally came to the table she had the audacity to comment that she knew the appetizer would come out the same time as the meal, as she chuckled and bragged that she "called that right" in her words. OH WAIT..did I mention that we asked her at the beginning of the meal to put in an additional meal for us to take home for our 18 year old who was staying at home to watch the kids so we could go out. As she brings us the check, she has this look on her face and says, "Shoot! I forgot to put your to go order in." Fortunately I had enough leftover to put a dish together to take home for him and told her to forget about the to go order since we did not have another hour to wait for it to be prepared.
As to not completely condemn this visit, I will say the food was good. It was a bit salty, but the food quality was above average. But, it was not good enough to wait 2 hours and such poor service to get. I believe fault lies within the management. We were not visited one time by any member of management while dining as in other places where a dining room manager would float around making sure patrons are happy. There is NO reason why an appetizer should take 45 minutes to be sent to the table. Having an effective kitchen manager present would have avoided that. The appetizer, since we were not able to eat it by fault of theirs, should have been taken back and removed from our bill.
Bottom line...I will never and I mean never go back to this place. I will also go out of my way to tell every person I meet how strongly I feel about the poor service that was provided while encouraging them not to dine at this establishment. I am sorry but there was no excuse for what the wife and I had to experience Saturday night.
I wish you the best and hope that you can get your sh#@ together for future patrons. (not us)
