"I live literally a block away from this shop. I have been coming here 2-3 times a week for 2 years. I have seen the owner there on a regular basis. One day, I was on my way home from work and realized I'd forgotten to send a few emails. I knew I'd be bombarded by the family when I got home. So, I decided to slip into the Gladstone Coffee shop for a few minutes. I didn't buy anything but I thought, "Hey, this is a neighborhood coffee shop I love and frequent." After a few minutes the owner asks me if I need anything. I say, "No, I just came in here to jump on the computer for a few minutes." He said, "No we don't do that here; we're a restaurant." I thought he was joking. So, I played along until he said he was serious. I said, "I'm a regular customer. I come here all the time." He says, "Yeah, I know you. So good. Since you're a regular customer then you understand why we don't do that." I 've never been so appalled. Let's see, 2-3 visits a week for 2 years at an average ticket of 3.50 comes to $455. Guess that's not enough business to use the wireless service in his cafe. I could somewhat understand if I had never been in there or if he did not recognize me as a regular but he did. And it's not like I'm a shady looking guy. I'm pretty all american looking. I don't want to forget to mention I was the only one inside the coffee shop -- out of 24 empty seats (See, I've been there so many times I can remember how many seats there are). Gee, I wonder why they were all empty?"
