What a tremendous disappointment. Tonight my family and I decided to eat out. My two sons asked if we could eat at the Roadhouse Steak Joint in Lewes. He wanted to eat here because he had received a free kids meal from his school. My other son had also received a certificate from the last school year. So we went to the restaurant and had a decent meal with okay service. After the bill was delivered I gave the waitress our two certificates. She took these to a manager. The manager said that one of the certificates was too old and could not be accepted but the other was okay. The one from a year ago was okay but not the one from a few months ago. In addition neither certificate included expiration dates. To make matters even worse the staff signed the one from a year ago to recognize my son’s great efforts but would not do so for the one from this year. On the way out my son who did not have his certificate accepted wanted to know why the staff would not sign his. What a great message my son left with that night.
These certificates are promotional items. They lured me in. I wanted to support a local business. Shame the local business does not want to support local families. There are many other good places to eat near the Roadhouse, I recommend you try them instead.
