Update:
So the General Manager Lori contacted me back on Facebook. She spoke with Chris and then Jim the Owner. And the Owner called Chris and wanted us to come back in tonight. Jim, Lori and Kaitlyn C. made sure we had THE BEST experience at The Stone Eagle Tavern! Jim personally made 2 special appetizer dishes for us that aren't on the menu and they were amazing!! The steaks came out perfectly & sizzling! And then Jim, Lori, Kaitlyn and four other servers went out of their way to sing Happy Birthday to our daughter with a big chocolate cake complete with sparking firework candle!! Jim covered everything going above and beyond to make sure we had a perfect night!! On behalf of Chris, Leah, Pam, Stan and I, we are very greatful for the amazing evening.

7pm we showed up for our daughters birthday, should have been a happy occasion. HA. We were told there would be a 35 min wait, we waited, we were sat by 7:35, yay. 7:45 we finally meet our server, which at this point we already knew what we wanted to eat so we ordered then. 7:55ish still didn't have drinks. 8p got 3 soft drinks and a water, 2 drinks from the bar were "held up due to the Bartender being behind" so our server says. 8:15 we got those 2 drinks and a few moments later 2 or our three appetizers. 10 min later finally got the 3rd. By this point we are out of drinks and had to stop a different server to get refills. 8:45 we are confused as to why 2 tables sat after us are already eating their meals, since we ordered our meals at 7:45!!! 8:51 we stop a server that just laughs n walks off when asked if the cook finally caught that cow yet?" So 8:55 we ask a bus boy to check on it, by which he replies right away and goes straight to the kitchen. 9pm the HOSTESS who sat us ALSO EATING rushed to the kitchen to tell our server we were joking about dine n dash, clearly that wasn't the case BECAUSE 1 we wouldn't ever do that and 2 WE DIDN'T EVEN GET TO DINE YET, can't really walk out on a meal you haven't eaten yet. So magically around 9:10 guess what here's our server FINALLY and she says your foods ready though...are you kidding!? Leaving is the nicest thing we could do at this point, because our evening was RUINED! It is a Tue night, by time we make it home it would be 10pm and EVERYWHERE else for food beside drive through is closed!!! We work our behinds off and all we wanted to do was give her a nice birthday dinner, she even chose this establishment!!!! So after watching 3-4 tables eat and leave, after watching the hostess who greated us at 7pm eat along with our server at her table, we were pretty livid. So they bring us a $43 bill for 3 soft drinks, 2 alcohol drinks and 3 appetizers. Which, appetizers where half off , or supposed to be anyway. My man gives her $60 and says keep the change. FIRST of all, the whole ticket should have been wiped out, not over charged, and SECOND the other hostess acted like she could care less. We watched our server tell her huge group of executives have a good night, blah blah blah so he told the hostess to tell her to keep the change. Maybe she will realize just because we were a group of 5, a family, that we don't tip like crap. I get Making sure her big money table is satisfied but if she couldn't handle us too she never should have taken our table! 10 years of waitressing and ya learn a few things. Hope she enjoyed her $18 tip for the Worst dine out experience we have EVER had! Would not recommend, if possible would give -5 stars. Thank you for making her birthday special Stone Eagle Tavern!

We are in town from Pennsylvania and wanted to find a locally owned restaurant. We walked in and saw pictures of the owner buying and supporting the 4H program. We knew we found the right restaurant! Our meals were delicious and our waitress was amazing!

My wife and I went there tonight 4/03/21. We have enjoyed this place in the past, but tonight that wasn’t the case. I had the special which was prime rib, It was very thin, half of it was fat. The waitress was bad she would disappear for long periods of time. The two girl bartenders had several shots and were very loud. We were surprised this place normally has some class. On the plus side my wife’s meal was good.

I dined at this place the other night. It was my first time there, and it will be my last. I was not impressed in the slightest. From the time we ordered, it took over an hour for us to get our food. Our server, Kaitlin, was nowhere to be found for the majority of our time there. No refills, no communication, no nothing. We were told our food would be out in a few minutes.... Over 25 minutes later, we finally received our cold food. A burger, and the fish dinner. The staff, is not very professional in the aspect of attitude and communication with guests. It's not that difficult, to ensure the smallest things are done for your tables. (I used to serve, so I get it. And I understand when things go wrong, but that's why communication is paramount.)
Customer Service has gone out the window, everywhere. Maybe it's time for business owners, including chain restaurants and fast food places, to inform their staff and management of what all customer service entails... And this place, surely needs a revamp of education on it.

ALWAYS great food and service, I would not eat anywhere else in Rockford for a great sit down meal. Prices are great for amount of food you get. Always have to take some home. Pizza or steak or anything else perfect.

We rarely have a problem here, maybe once but that is about it, the food is good, never had a problem with the staff or owner, my young daughter was with us and she was behaving properly, brought her manners with her...lol he came out and commented how nice she was is and brought her an ice cream sundae. We always have a nice time when we come here....my husband and i are 46 and are very picky about restaurants if we don't like we would never go back, this is our go to place...... the only thing i have a problem with is when they keep changing their chicken/sausage Gumbo....and they changed the beniet's not a good thing.

Just ha d dinner here. Service was horrible. Took 20 minutes just to get a scoop of shrimp. We had a salad and a reuben sandwich. Neither were that good. Won't go back.
