Stuck for a moment in a world of judgment, criticism, and the constant diverting of eyes, as if one might "catch" this disease of homelessness, I am beyond grateful for the youngsters who work at this restaurant.
I have not been able to afford to eat here, but stop by almost nightly for a cup of water for my service dog, and am treated as though we are their highest paying customers. Tonight, hungry & cold & with little hope, one of the young waitresses insisted on buying us dinner. Not because i told her i was hungry; because she cared enough to look me in the eye, as though I am still human, and see my pain.
So, thanks to Piology, the compassion of a beautiful young woman, and the kindness of their entire staff, my hope is restored and my heart is healed, if but for a moment ♥️🐾
