Best filet, I've had in a long time, homemade sides, creative specials . My mouth was watering as the server told us the specials. Service was attentive, we will be back !!

A disappointing evening
We went there to celebrate a birthday. Our server was obnoxious. She would rush to the table, interrupt us loudly and then rush to the next table. It didn't occur to her to pause instead of interrupting our personal conversation. This happened frequently. She would start talking rather loudly as she approached the table wanting to know if everything was ok. Most good servers approach a table and wait for a pause in the conversation or an indication the customers had her attention. Then....She removed my salad without asking. I had not finished....however I hadn't noticed as when the extra plate had come to the table it was sizzling hot. As an experienced cook and having burned myself on occasion when accidentally touching a rack while removing something from the oven...I would estimate the plate was between 350 and 400 degrees. She had put the plate on the table at an angle and said "it's hot". But it was far to hot to reasonably be placed on a table without some kind of protective plate around it. Because it was set at an angle I instinctively went to move it to straighten it and bring it closer to me....burning two of my fingers. I reacted immediately and told her..."that burned me!" She said "I told you it was hot". There is a huge difference between a hot (heated) plate and one that burns the skin instantly. I immediately put my burned fingers in the glass of ice water. It was painful and my immediate reaction was anger because serving anything sizzling hot and unprotected to a patron is incredibly irresponsible.
I spent the rest of the dinner with those fingers in a cup of ice water trying to take the painful sensation out. It took a good 30 minutes before I could stand having my fingers out of the cold water.
A few minutes later the manager came over bringing me a salve they have on hand for servers who burn themselves. She asked if I was all right. Because this was supposed to be a birthday celebration I downplayed everything. We were with another couple and I didn't want to make a big deal...however it was a big deal. Yet.... I told her I was OK.
My husband ordered a steak medium-rare. His came almost well-done. All in all it was a miserable evening, the food was mediocre, the server was intrusive and the restaurant places blistering hot, unprotected plates on the table with the warning "it's hot". They need to purchase sleeves for heated plates and retrain their servers. However, we already decided we won't be going back.

I live in Henderson, NV and find your food so wonderful I make a point in coming to St George once a year just to go to your establishment. You are priced perfect and the food is GREAT.
Thank you
