La Puente is absolutely the BEST mexican restaurant in town! I will try other mexican restaurants but nothing else measures up. We have lunch or dinner there very often. Their smothered burritos are to die for! Fantastic, fast, friendly service. LOVE IT! :)

I ordered takeout today and they ripped me off. The girl pretended like she was dumb and didn't speak English. The Chile verde was terrible, the pork in it was so disgusting and hard. I will keep going to la frontera they never disappoint or have ever overcharged me,

I have never written a negative review of anything. If I don't like something, I simply avoid recommending it. However, after the experience I had today at La Puente, I feel obligated to try to save my fellow Salt Lakers from a horrible dining experience. I didn't know it was possible to make Mexican food so bland. The stuff my wife and I got tasted boiled. I had to dump a bunch of tobasco sauce, salt, and pepper just to choke food down. My wife had to do the same thing to her chimichanga. La Puente Restaurants dot the Wasatch Front, and my only explanation for this is that a lot of people in Utah have no idea what Mexican food should taste like. The food at La Puente is dreadful. Avoid it.
