They only have pork so I decided to go ahead and try them anyway. Soooo greasy!!!
I prefer my homemade chicken with Chili Cascavel pepper sauce where I use chicken broth so they are actually healthy & taste wonderful

I dont know what happened to rubens tamales! They are just awful! Pure masa no meat! Looked like they just put a big dollop of mass on the shuck and flattened it! There is something wrong here! I have discussed this issue with our neighborhood and every one has been talking about how its sad how awful their tamales are now! I still see people go there! Maybe they like mass tamales idk! All I know is im done with rubens!

I've been eating Rubens tamales since i was a child. I am now 68 years old and every time I come to San Antonio, Rubens Tamales is our first stop. They are the best tasting tamales ever!!!! They are worth the price!!!

WE HAVE BEEN BUYING TAMALES SINCE I WAS A CHILD IN OUR FAMILY!!I I CONTINUED TO GET THEM FOR MY MOTHER EVERY CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEARS EVE...... IT HAS BEEN A LIFE LONG TRADITION IN OUR FAMILY !!! I WOULD STAND IN LINE FOR HOLIDAYS IT IS WELL WORTH IT ESPECIALLY FOR MY MOM :) SHE JUST HAD TO HAVE THEM ...HOW CAN YOU SAY NO TO YOUR MAMA UNTIL SHE PAST AT 85YRS OLD 2019. Purchased tamales 8/25/2020/ needless to say I will no longer purchase their tamales. Maybe my dozen was the last of the batch. They had VERY little meat inside. I actually turned it over to look where I had just bitten. To see if it was only, masa. I have for several years purchased tamales from here and they were good. I will search elsewhere from now on. Too bad the quality and taste isn't what it used to be.
