Al Amir is one of those middle eastern jewels you can come across in San Antonio. The restaurant looks new and clean and the kitchen staff looks happy and eager for you to come and look at what they're doing. The wait staff is very patient and makes sure that all personal requests are fulfilled to the T. The owner is a very pleasing man and is happy to service any special requests you might have about the food. There were 6 of us at the table and each of us customized dishes from the menu when we placed our orders. Each of us got exactly what we had ordered, with no exceptions. The food is excellent, especially the kebabs. Everything is very delicately spiced and super flavorful. Make sure to ask the owner or wait staff what they recommend, because they know exactly what's the best, depending on the meat and produce that came in that day. They seem like honest and earnest people. I seriously hope they prosper.
