The folks running Pepe's on Bandera are super friendly, and their barbacoa is hands down the most flavorful and tender I've found in San Antonio after trying over 30 spots. Just remember to bring cash since they don't take cards, and get there early on the weekend because it goes fast-definitely worth the drive for a Sunday breakfast fix.

Taste is mostly good altho a littl salty meat sometimes. Check your charges/ prices. Bought 1 & 1/2 lb barbacoa ALL MEAT, 2pkgs tortillas & 1 sm salsa. They overchrgd me. Didnt notice till I got home tho I believe theyve done it before. Beware of what they charge.
