Our Friday food adventures with my son Michael took us to Ortiz Bakery & Restaurant, where we explored the flavors of Oaxacan cuisine. The Tamal Oaxaqueño wrapped in banana leaf had a unique "grassy" taste that set it apart from the tamales I'm familiar with. The Mole Rojo and Mole Negro offered contrasting flavors that complemented each other perfectly, showcasing the richness of Oaxacan cuisine.
