Oh man! My birthday is coming up and I wanted to finally try this place. I've been putting it off for years. Now I'll never get to try it. Maybe it's best I don't know what I'm missing. R.I.P. to this owner. R.I.P. to the best Baker not only in the South Bay but in San Diego the last 40 years. He passed today & with him goes the best Strawberry Pies, & Lemon Cakes that we're ever made as his family will now close his little shop down. Me & my family have been going to him for years from his shop on Highland National City to his little shop in the back of his house. He was our birthday cakes & holiday pies. He was always nice when I go pick up my desserts. The man was a Dessert God & now he's an angel in that Lemon Cake Cloud in the sky. You & your desserts will be missed, R.I.P. Gene.
