12/27/2014 - Paolo B
We arrived at the restaurant at 5:30, before the dinner rush.
The hostess asked if we'd like to buy a $50 gift card and receive an extra $10 bonus card. "Great idea, since our meal will exceed $50," we said.
The floor of the dining room was filthy. Food scraps, napkins, silverware were strewn all over the floor. Empty tables were covered with food crumbs and debris. Our table was coated in smeared food. The hostess merely wiped it off with a slimy wet rag - no sanitizing or cleansing spray, just a bacteria laden wet towel.
We were led to our table, to find a ZIOSK tablet on the table, which our teenage boys instantly began playing with. I used the tablet as well. I NEVER saw any LABEL, SIGN, WARNING or received a VERBAL ADMONISHMENT that there would be a charge for using the tablet. I though that this was to entertain us and distract us from the slow & poor service.
Our napkin wrapped silverware had food debris and grease on them. GROSS!
Ryan, our server took our order.
When another employee delivered our meal, TWO meals were wrong. My wife was brought chicken when she ordered Talapia. I ordered (3) CRISPY TACOS w/Chicken. Instead I received (3) CRISPY CHICKEN Soft Tacos. I SETTLED for the soft tacos, as I was hungry and did not want to wait. My wife sent hers back, as she wanted fish (dietary concerns). When I was done eating, another server brought me a (3) Crispy Taco meal - What the heck was I supposed to do with that? "Take it home as a midnight snack," Ryan said. "No thanks, I really want to forget this place."
Ryan stopped by a little later & apologized. He said "don't worry I'll take care of you later."
We tried to use the ZIOSK to order our dessert to discover that it does not work. A waitress took our order and brought us our dessert.
When our bill came, I noticed that there was a 99¢ charge for using the ZIOSK tablet.
Then Ryan advised that the gift card we bought 2 hours earlier (yes, we'd been there over 2 hours!) could not be used on this visit, as there is a 4 hour delay in card activation. WHY WEREN'T WE TOLD THAT WHEN WE PURCHASED IT? We even told the hostess our intention on using it on that meal!
When I contacted the manager (a Hispanic Male 5-6 Black hair, mid 30's) about all of the problems during our visit I got the blow off. No credit for the screwed up meals, no credit for the tablet use, BS excuse about the filthy restaurant. He did take the gift card number and promised to enter the debit after the 4 hour period.
My wife and I have been going to Chili's restaurants for over 35 years. Over all, this was absolutely THE WORST VISIT THAT WE'VE EVER HAD AT ANY CHILI'S across the country (we've eaten at over a hundred).
We do not plan on ever going back.
BIG CORPORATE MENTALITY - FOOD AND VALUE HAS GONE OUT THE WINDOW. Even their basket of fries has shrunken to a small square metal tin, from what used to be a BOTTOMLESS BASKET (back in 1978).
Anyone want the gifts cards?
The manager of this restaurant spends too much time in his office or in the back room. He should be out walking the floor, monitoring table turn over, cleanliness, pitching in to clean after a rush or expediting the cleaning and clearing of tables. Overall a VERY POORLY RAN RESTAURANT.
WHERE IS THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT? They should inspect this dump evenings and weekends, not just 9-5 !
