My coworker introduced me to Sushi Sam's, and from the moment we sat down at the bar, the freshness and authentic flavors of the sushi impressed me deeply-especially the uni, which was the best I've had in California. Though the ambiance wasn't particularly modern or traditional, the friendly service and delicious dishes, including the hojicha tiramisu for dessert, made the experience truly memorable; just be sure to call ahead for a reservation, especially on weekends.
