New owners as of November 20013 and just as horrible as old ones because they still have the same amateur chef. TEA was served with tea bag in it- not freshly brewed tea and =charged $2.00 for that unheard of in a Japanese restaurant and shrimp was tiny pieces of barely cooked and I hope I don't get sick from it and the rest was crab meat -the are rude new owners and refused to answer me when I asked why? this was made this way. INREAL good for naïve tourists not people who live here and know better do not ever go there!

New Owners as of October =2013 and it is as horrible as the old owners. They have the same awful chef. They had the Gaul to charge $2.00 for tea with a tea bag in it-not freshly brewed and tempera shrimp roll with frozen tiny shrimp piece with mostly crab meat and lied about it all Horrible new owner refused to even talk about it.
DO NOT GO THERE!!!! TERRIBLE< HORRIBLE FOOD and rude owners!!!!! tourists will get stuck once there.!!!!

I love that place, although the place is a bit small the service is great. however it would be great if you could switch the miso soup for something else (more salad or vegetables). other than that, the place is great :)

I had food poisoning eating from Sakura Express in Santa Barbara May 23, 2009. I don’t recommend for anyone to eat here. Apparently Sakura Express do not serve fresh food. I ordered the combination Nigiri Sushi “Special C”. DO NOT EAT AT SAKURA EXPRESS Santa Barbara. I had bad diarrhea for the next 2 days.
