El Rosal Bakery has been my go-to for tamales for over a decade, especially the pollo chile verde and the red sauce pork ones, which are always large, moist, and packed with authentic flavor that reminds me of home. The staff are warm and welcoming, and I enjoy chatting with them in Spanish, sharing laughs and supporting their business because they truly make tamales the right way. Besides tamales, their pan dulce and Mexican candies are tempting, and the market carries a nice selection of traditional ingredients, making each visit a little celebration of Mexican food culture near the ocean.
