Never disappointing! Not only is the food reliably tasty and appetizing, Mary’s is spic and span clean. The service is friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is reminiscent of “mom’s home cooking” type cafe. Kent is fortunate to be home to a few excellent cafes and Mary’s is one of them.

I loved the food here loved the service until I went her just recently. My son who is three and newly implanted with cochlear implants made one and I mean ONE loud noise. It was actually kind of a screech when these two old ladies were ordering coffee. when the server asked what he could get them the one lady said very rude and loud. "You could get that boy to be quiet". She was extremely rude and the server said nothing. Absolutely nothing. I told me son to be quiet and tried to explain to her but she was still really really rude and had ugly face. I was so furious. I spent over $50 there, took my food home with my 19 year old son, my 9 year old daughter and 3 year old boy. I filled out take out boxes with tears in my eyes. This restaurant should say NO CHILDREN or they should have damn well stuck up for me. They should have told those ladies that sit on a Sunday afternoon to the left right when you walk in; that I was a paying customer and children are welcome. I will NEVER EVER go here again because they let their customers be treated so poorly. I explained to the waiter when I left and let him know it wasn't his fault their were so rude but it should not be tolerated. Those old ladies only ordered coffee too. I wish I would have gotten their ignorant faces on a picture so I could blast them everywhere. They obviously live in a perfect world where everything is black and white. I suggest if you think it is okay to treat customers terrible by others go, if not, STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
