04/24/2007 - Michelle
My husband and I are from Detroit and I took him to the Napa Valley for his 50th birthday. We ended up in San Francisco on the actual birthday and I took him to Venticello for dinner. For an entree, we split the portabella mushroom with polenta, which was very hummy. I had the best veal dish I have ever had, and I am a personal chef. The tirimisu was fabulous. We had an exquisite dinner.
The hostess seated us at a more private table in the upper portion of the restaurant. The tables in the lower portion of the restaurant are rather close together, so it gives a cozy feeling.
We brought our own wine for dinner, which was a luxury for us. We don't have that option in Detroit.
The prices for entres were very reasonable by our standards. Dress is anything from jeans to business to dressy. Whatever you want, really.
Overall, our dining experience was tops at this wonderful Nob Hill restaurant. I would highly recommend it for dinner.
We ate there on a Tuesday evening in April and every table was full by 7:30. It's obviously quite popular in the neighborhood.
If you are in the area, don't miss it. You'll be very pleased with the food.
