07/13/2007 - Great food at reasonable prices
Kathy's is a little gem of a restaurant. On a recent visit we ordered a large number of items from the menu. The pot stickers were delicious and there were 8 in the order, so enough for everyone. I was surprised by the "steamed dumplings," which were more like steamed pot stickers, but filled with some sort of a spinach mixture. Tasty, but not what I was expecting. The Sesame shrimp appetizer was also delicious.
For entrees we had walnut shrimp (it's a specialty of the house; order two orders--you'll want more than you think you do!), beef and broccoli, tofu with mushrooms (I was pleased to see that the mushrooms in all of the dishes were fresh, not canned), fabulous garlic green beans (again, order two. they're that good!), chicken with snow peas and General Tsao chicken.
Everything was cooked to perfection, with the vegetables crisp and brightly colored. We also were sered both white and brown rice.
The bill for 9 of us, including wine and tip came to $225, which was decidedly reasonable. I highly recommend trying this little neighborhood restaurant.
