1st visit, I would have given 5☆ review. The food is outstanding, great menu selection and the server Guadalupe was a JOY. Our 1st visit, and she greeted us with a smile, and made us feel welcome. She was informative of resturant menu, and told us short form of resturant history, family. We were so excited to have found this GEM of a resturant, could not wait to come back. We were telling everyone
about the resturant. Thank you for the 1st impression.❤
The difference 1 person can make to effect your experience is WOW...
2nd visit, walked in looking for a table, no acknowledgement of us entering. Walked in to the back part and I asked if we needed to be seated or find our own seat. Guadalupe came from kitchen with a smile and said "Sit wherever you would like."
I proceeded to sit down at a table that looked as if it was set up with placemats, etc... A different server came out and said " This table has not been cleaned off." So I looked for a different table without placemats, and sat down. She then came over and said I need to clean this table. So I politely asked if we should move to a different table, I'm confused as to where to sit. She simply replied "If you'd like." I was a little taken back with the difference, and absolutely felt that we were a burden to be there. I ordered an unsweet tea. When it was brought out, I thought that maybe it was water, as it was clear. I showed her and and asked if it was tea. She said "yes"...didn't ask if something was wrong, or could she get me something else...nada! I never drank it. I do have a picture of it. As we are on a specific diet, that needed substitutes to a accommodate it, My husband asked for the options. (BTW we were given the substitution on previous visit. I think we paid the difference, no big deal). The server said we had to have toast or pancakes. So we said we would just not have any. She simply responded "ok" and went to the kitchen and talked about us (which we overheard). Another customer comes in and sits at a table across from us. She orders and the same server asked her choice if sides. The customer asked If she could have soup. The server said she would have "2" soups because she didn't want the choices on menu, which she received. Hmmm... I'm not sure what the difference was with us. We are not argumentative customers and try to be easy going. We never complained about anything....she just wasn't happy to wait on us from the start. Not one time did she appear happy to serve us. Not 1 smile.
So, back to a previous statement....Sadly, 1 person can effect your entire experience.
Ask for Guatalupe, if you go in!
