Hidden gem in Spartanburg! Loved the atmosphere; took me back in time. Such a cozy place and service was phenomenal. Had calabash chicken tossed in their homemade BBQ sauce and fried green tomatoes. Everything was hot and delicious. Can’t wait to return

Fire a child because they made an effort to come to work sick. Fire them because they felt so bad they were crying. Had only missed 1 day prior

I gave a one star because I had to. My family has been eating at this restaurant for years and I honestly couldn't believe what I witnessed. We order our food, it wasn't as good as usual, every thing was extremely greasy but we over looked it. I asked the waitress when I should place my to go order and she said "as soon as I bring your food out" and I did. I ordered a catfish filet full plate and a half of a chicken tender plate. The waitress comes to the table and says "you're order is up there and ready". After we were done we I paid for my food (only one bag was sitting on the counter) my ,Mothers food and the to go orders. I told the young girl that was mine because that's what the waitress said". I leave and a gentlemen comes out and says "the cashier said you didn't pay for your drinks". I go back in, not realizing that the drinks wasn't paid for.. I just assumed she knew to ring them up but this was a very young girl, she looked no older than 15. When I got back in there the owner (who denied any responsibility , said she didn't own it that her daughter did) said "she gave you the wrong order, she gave you the seafood platter". I asked, why wasn't my order ready because it had been placed 30 minutes ago, she said "I don't know what happened but I need the sea food platter back". Now, I went back out to my car, got the food and brought it back in. I've worked in restaurants many years ago and that is a huge NO NO.. IF I was a bad person the next person getting that food could've gotten sick. It's unsanitary and I don't even want to know what they do in the back. They've started charging for everything, water, onions, even extra sauce for the fried green tomatos, however this is not why i'm raging and angry! Because the kitchen AND the waitress messed up the order and charged me for a seafood platter, and not the half of the chicken platter. The old owner says "she made a mistake she has to pay back $15. I said what! why? she didn't do anything wrong.. the waitress or the kitchen should pay it back but in actuality NO ONE shouldn't been giving or paying anything back, I WAS a paying customer. When I confronted the Old owner that's when she said "I don't know how to fix it because we have these new machines" I said it's not about FIXING IT now, it's about this young girl having to pay $15 for a mistake she didn't make. Then the lady continues to say "she grabbed the wrong bag" I said there was only ONE bag and I watched you walk back there and get the food while she was TRYING to fix the situation. Honestly, it was like watching the blind lead the blind. I don't know if that young girl knows this, her name is Autumn Daniels, but there's labor laws and a labor board, which i'm also emailing. That lady was an absolute embarrassment to that establishment , her daughter,(if she's the owner) and any other restaurant that she's involved with. Shady business there folks and no way in this WORLD would they treat my daughter that way! Word of mouth is powerful, I hope the young owner remembers that because i'll never have another good thing to say about that place. That cashier was COMPLETLY innocent in that situation, yet she has to pay because the ex and new owner can't get it together? Why doesn't the daughter (new owner) pay for it? Oh and last but not least, just because you refuse to give me your labor license number, i'll still get it. Watch and learn, we're in America not Vietnam.

The fried foods are good, but not the baked potatoes, was hard, cold and surly leftover from the night before!

My friends and family had been regulars at the Wagon Wheel for years. Recently, though, my bill seemed at bit larger than usual. When I questioned this at the register, the cashier responded that the SC sales tax is 6%, and Spartanburg city hospitality tax is an additional 2% (this place is not inside the city). The worst part, though, is that she told me that we had two glasses of water, @ 25 cents each, for 50 cents. I don't pay for water even at fine restaurants. I normally prefer to support local merchants, but this was the last visit for all of my crowd.
