Really this is not a review per se, but rather a comment on a previous review. The previous reviewer kept referring to Gino and Sal's. There is no Gino and Sal's in Baldwinsville. There is a Gino and Joe's and a Sal's. Since I have had excellent food from both places, I haven't a clue which restaurant the reviewer was referring to, and I suggest that readers not put much stock in that review.
03/14/2014 - Bill Birdsall
I just left Gino and Sals in Baldwinsville. A stocky, balding man behind the counter was incredibly rude to me because I took a salad out of the refrigerator thinking it was part or the $4.95 slice and salad special. I ordered two slices of pepperoni and the salad as part of the special. He tried charging me $15. When I questioned him he got very angry, took the salad I had in the plastic container and threw it under the cabinet housing the beer taps. Is that sanitary procedure? He angrily, literally threw a new salad together and still charged me $11.18. This is still too high but I was being admonished in front of 6 or 7 other customers.
If I didn't have my company's logo on me I would have told him to take his food and keep it, to put in mildly. Additionally, I ordered take out and he shoved the two slices on one plate in a open paper bag dripping the little bit of sauce on this dry, doughy pizza rather than wrap it in a sanitized manner such as foil or a box.
I will NEVER enter a Gino and Sal's again and I will tell others of the miserable way I was treated. I am only giving one star because I can't give a zero.
