I was hoping The Mockingbird would improve under the new ownership. I was wrong. It is, in fact, WORSE!
Appetizers were utterly tasteless. My fried catfish was so overly breaded you could not taste the fish, and my wife's meatloaf was mushy. No way we'll be going back.

Seeing the high rated reviews and instagram worthy photos of the food at Mockingbird, I was both excited and proud to show off this restaurant to family today. I made reservations far in advance to prepare for an outstanding meal. Instead, we were beyond disgusted and disappointed.

For starters, our server appeared to be drunk, high, or both but it was clearly evident the common customer was just so meaningless and bothersome. Not one employee we came across wanted to be there today! Not one! No smiles, just a bunch of fake recitings of happy mothers day.

I should have gathered up everyone and walked out upon hearing our server answer the phone, hang up, and proceed to yell out, "who the f-ck would call on mother's day wanting reservations? Are they f-ck-ng crazy? It's mother's day for crying out loud!" The silliness and shanningans continued with tacky whistling and singing. He was just so annoying!

Now let's talk about the sh-t food shall we...

You had 2 meats, cold ham and petite dried out, fried chicken fingers. No carving station! No roast beef or prime rib! Just chicken fingers and ham! Then there was the lonely pan of lettuce. It was just....lettuce, no dressing anywhere to be found. We were all completely blown away but the lack of attention to detail and the sub par, tasteless and so few food choices. All the scones were plain and tasted like pure flour. They were so dry they fell apart. The fruit looked like someone stopped in to a twice dailys and grabbed 2 week old fruit cups and just poured them out on the buffet. Your so called monkey bread was burnt Pillsbury biscuit dough with no icing. In other words, it was sh-t!

I expected an impeccable, exquisite and unforgettable dining experience for $ 161.00 for 4 people plus a $35 tip which should have been 35 cents. What a sh-t show this was today. We will NOT be back. This should have been your day to shine. Instead, we left hungry and confused.

You should be embarrassed both of your food and your staff. You may be asking why I didn't say anything during our visit. I can't imagine the scene I would have caused by doing so. It would have been like a bull in a china shop. What an absolute f-ck-ng worthless disaster this was.

I paid a high stupid tax today! 0 stars given to the mockingbird!

Sincerely,

K. Matt Grodi
