I always wash my car when leaving the beach in Surfside. For the second time this year, even though the Buckee's Lake Jackson car wash was not in operation, it asked me if I wanted a car wash and charged me accordingly. Both times, I gassed up and drove around to the carwash to be greeted with signs saying it was closed. The first time I had gotten there before the carwash opened. I thought that I could use the one up in Houston and although inconvienent, I would make do. However, as I found out when I tried to use the carwash code in Houston, it would only work at the one in Lake Jackson. I was told that it would be good for a year. Unfortunately, the next time I was down, I could not locate my ticket and had to buy another carwash. This second time was this past Sunday. I didn't need much gas. But, topped it off anyway and bought the carwash that was offered when I inserted my credit card. After gassing up, I drove around to wash my car and found the carwash closed. I went inside to find out why and was told that it was because of flesh eating amoebas in the Brazoria Water District water. Under the circumstances, I understood why the carwash was closed. I asked why they continued to keep selling carwashes at the pump instead of removing it from the menu. The young lady behind the counter replied that they were supposed to be putting out signs that the carwash was closed. I then asked to see the manager. He came out a few minutes later without mask or gloves and came around to talk to me. I told him what had happened and he said that they had put up signs and that my receipt was good for one year. I told him the last time that had happened that I couldn't find my receipt and was out the money, so I wanted my $13+ back. He then told me that he would have to withold 20 cents per gallon that was discounted for getting the carwash. I explained to him that although I had only put in about 6 gallons and it $1.20 that was to be withheld, I had spent 15 minutes dealing with the issue and that I should get the full refund on the carwash portion. As he stood there holding my receipt in his ungloved hands and breathing on it, he said to the effect, "nope, that's the way it is". At that point, I was angry and I said in a harsh tone, "forget it" as I grabbed my ticket from him and turned to the counter to leave the salad I was no longer in the mood to purchase. I put the salad on the counter and turned to leave as he yellled out for me to get out of his store. I continued toward the door. He continued yelling and so I turned to see what he was saying and he said that he had told me to leave. Generally, I don't cuss, but I couldn't belive this jerk and called him an -ss and continued out the door. For the life of me, I have no idea how a man lacking so in customer relations skills became a manager. While, I like and continue to shop at Buckee's, this is the last time I visit that location.

I'm sad that the days of the great customer service of your cashiers are gone! No hello! no thank-you! It was always nice to come in to bucees for that smile and greeting let alone the great coffee. It's just a darn shame these young kids bucees hires have no respect.
