Great dining atmosphere. Good cold beer. Good place to meet friends in the country, but the food is only average. Probably won't go back unless someone invites me.

I explored the Temple area on business during lunchtime and stumbled upon Oscar Store, where I indulged in their highly recommended chicken fried steak plate with mashed potatoes and fried okra, and was thoroughly impressed by the flavors, textures, and friendly service, making it a dining experience I would gladly repeat.

Went there on a Sarurday night,waited more than 40 minutes for our food, people that came in after we did was getting their food. My husband ordered a steak medium and it was rare at best, brought it home for our dog and wouldn't even give it to him till I cooked it longer. Why didn't he send it back, because we didn't want to wait another 30 minutes, won't be going back. This has happened to us before but we thought we would give them another chance.
