The Golden Corral of Killeen, Texas is the only major restaurant that it’s menu is of a southern country cuisine (if you will), and therefore the only Southern Cooking American Restaurant in the area (in that it’s only competition was Ryan’s Family Restaurant; but now closed), therefore has a captive market if one’s savor desires such cuisine.
My family and I frequent this Golden Corral often, and especially when coming from Church Services. The Wife and I, at times crave for the fried fish, but it is always too salty in the breading when preparing for frying. I have mentioned this to my Servers often, and ask that my comment be passed on to the Chef; however this has been to no avail.
Finally, on our past visit, I took it on myself to confront Management. Who stated that the recipes are from Corporate Headquarters, and must be followed in their preparations entirely.
I cannot accept that; being a retired Business Food and Beverage Chief for many years, who has been responsible for many restaurants, as well as being a frequent Customer of Golden Corral, I find it hard to believe that Management has no input in the preparation of such items. Especially when it comes to the fried fish. Which is an easy fix by breading it less in it’s preparation for frying.
From a business point of view, especially when it’s Customers share their comments on certain food items, I find it hard to understand
why the facility management is not allowed to make adjustments in its preparation, with Corporate’s Approval.
Their are an abundance of Asian Cuisine Restaurants in the area.
