So we stopped by this place cause we heard some good things about it. It was a nice big cool place. We ordered the small chicken fried and it was big and alright but my baked potato was hard and not cooked all the way. First and last time there. Catfish corner in Abilene Tx has some big and good chicken fried steaks.

Took a long time. We kept asking if they lost our order. They don’t have the staff to cook for big groups unless you have 2hrs. to spend on eating nachos.

I dream about eating at Mary's Cafe all the time. My son told me he thinks about it as well. I can hardly wait to return for another great meal. In August 2022 we met Mary and all the folks that work there. They were all so friendly. I ordered the chicken fried Steak. It was delicious. It covered my whole dinner plate. I couldn't even finish eating all of it. I ended up bringing the rest of it home. Same thing happened to my son with his giant cheeseburger. You get more food than you pay for. We live in Mesquite, a suburb of Dallas. It takes us 2 hours to make this drive and its so worth it!

WE WAITED OVER 1 1/2 HRS FOR OUR ORDER AND WATCHED PEOPLE WHO ARRIVED AFTER WE HAD PLACED OUR ORDER GET SERVED AND ATE AND LEFT. THEY CLAIMED IT WAS A STAFFING PROBLEM. BULL. IT WAS A GREED PROBLEM. AT SOME TIME MANAGEMENT JUST HAS TO SAY, WE CAN TAKE NO MORE CUSTOMERS UNTIL WE GET THE ONES WE HAVE TAKEN CARE OF.
NEVER AGAIN FOR ME. FOOD IS GOOD BUT THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF PLACES THAT SERVE AN EQUALLY GOOD CFS.

EVERY TIME I order takeout there is something missing or incorrect with my order.
Their club $10 sandwich is a thin ham sandwich with an extra piece of bread. If you want bacon on it that's $3.50 extra.

They charge you for extra meals!!! Everyone had already finished their meals when I got mine service sucked and the food was not good at all... Well would rate a no stars but you can't...

My husband and I with our family ate there today (7/10/2020). It was excellent and the service was exceptional. I would drive 40 minutes anytime to eat her food!!!!

I eat there every chance I get and have never had a bad one at any time the last 25 years. I also take friends there from Arizona to Georgia to Kansas and all over the state of Texas and everyone has always said that was the best chicken fry they had ever eaten. If we had 10 stars I would give it a 10.

Mary's is the best restaurant in the WORLD hands down. Ive been eating here for many years after my wife introduced me to Mary's, She grew up eating at Mary's,Her father had a deer lease near by and going into town to eat at Marys she told me was the highlight of the weekend, From the fried zucchini to the burger 🍔 to the CFS and the super duper corn dog my son loves you can't go wrong! Alot of folks complain about the smoking 🚬 but hey that's how it is in a small country town, NO CITY ORDINANCE! Mary the owner is a sweetheart and if you were a true Mary's fan you'd stop complaining and MAKE A RESERVATION SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO WAIT!😋

I wont't eat there again! Everything, chicken fried steak, fries, liver, burgers, are all slopped with the same grease!! My stomach hurt so bad from gas, I thought I was having a heart attack!

We first tried Mary's 3 years ago based on the hype. Took over an hour to get our food (CFS) and it was mediocre at best. Probably had something to do with the place filled with cigarette smoke. So, wanting to give it a second chance and hearing that smoking was no longer allowed we drove from the DFW metro this past weekend. We got seated and we thought the second time around would be much better. WRONG............ A lady next to us fired up a cigarette and here we go again. Our eyes started burning so we asked if they had some part of the restaurant that was non-smoking. The waitress directed us to another room so we thought things might be ok from there.........WRONG AGAIN!!!.....(as we would later find out just how wrong). We got our CFS in a reasonable amount of time BUT, it was stringy and the fries were greasy. The only good thing was the gravy and toast. So, disappointed but we are not done yet........as we went to the cash register to pay the bill we noticed others with children were paying out. The cashier didn't ask any of them if they wanted any bubble gum. You could plainly see it in a big bowl sitting on the counter. Then as we were paying, "Debbie" asked my wife if she wanted any gum which she declined. A strange thought but wait for it.........as we got to our car we saw a large wad of bubble gum on the windshield. Now do you understand the link?? Couldn't get it all off until we got back home. Guess this happens to folks who offend the smokers by asking to be seated elsewhere. What a pathetic experience and never again will we go there and will tell all our friends about this disgusting experience. Mary, you should be ashamed of yourself!!! PS: I would rate you as "no stars" but this wont post without at least one star.
