That’s because Georgette’s is part of Sunshine Communities, which since 1950 has supported people with developmental disabilities. Georgette’s employs men and women with disabilities in its kitchen, dining area, and gift shop in Uptown Maumee, and at their coffee packaging facility on Sunshine’s Maumee campus a few miles away.
Their work is part of supported employment, which helps staff build social and job skills. It also offers meaningful products and services, and that boosts the local economy. Best of all? By supporting people with disabilities as they live, work and play in the community, we better understand the gifts, talents and value of every human being. That great customer service at Georgette’s, those incredibly-fresh, mouth-watering baked goods, and that incredible coffee is all thanks to someone who is part of Sunshine’s supported employment and part of our – your - community.

Georgette's is a wonderful spot in Maumee with a great mission and delicious food. The staff is friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home. Supporting their cause feels good, especially when enjoying a cup of their fantastic coffee.
