I have been to Asian Cafe several times with my husband. The food is ok/good for being Asian food, (there are much better Asian restaurants located in Topeka). The most recent time we went, we received bad service.The waiter was not polite at all, never smiled, and said minimal to us during the meal. We were the only customers in the restaurant and the waiter was inattentive as my husband's water was empty for most of the meal. For these reasons, we chose not to leave a tip. The waiter followed us out of the restaurant and said "Excuse me!" We turned around as we thought we had dropped something that being the reason he hollered at us. He goes on to say "Why didn't you leave a tip?!" We were blind sighted by this and did not respond, then he says "If you don't leave a tip, you are not allowed to eat in this restaurant again!" We thought this was extremely rude and unprofessional. If he had provided better service by being more attentive, we would have left a generous tip. For this reason, we will not be back to Asian Cafe as it seems our business was not appreciated. There are many other Asian restaurants in Topeka and surrounding areas who would love to have our business and will provide excellent service.
