07/18/2024 - Yelp M.
This bustling joint near the Xcel gets packed during events, like the Wild game we hit up on Black Friday. The Bloody Marys were on point, even though they were missing that traditional beer chaser - a minor quibble. The food spread we ordered, from burgers to pastrami sandwiches, was fresh and piping hot, filling us up nicely. The decor nods to St. Paul's history, the location is prime, and it's even accessible for those with mobility needs - a big win in my book. The prices are fair, the service is quick, but I have to admit, the bartenders' constant griping can be a bit of a buzzkill. Hey, manager, can we get those folks in better spirits? Despite that, the food and service earn top marks. Portions are generous, so bring your appetite. The cheese curds make for a tasty starter, and the sandwiches are not only delicious but satisfying. Five stars from me - a definite must-try in Saint Paul! My pre-KISS concert visit was a blast, especially thanks to the awesome bartender Rob. Standard pub fare, like the solid Reuben I had, but nothing out of this world - still left me happy. Service was lightning fast, considering the crowd due to the nearby concert. And cool touch offering Trooper beer for the Iron Maiden fans. Overall, a cool spot that I'd happily return to if I find myself in the area again.
