Ok, so I cannot be 100% sure, but I do believe we were silently kicked out last night. The first thing I told the guy behind the counter was that we would be dining in and we will be drinking water only. I ordered/paid for the food at the counter and did not leave a tip since it is COUNTER SERVICE (no waiters). I prefer to tip AFTER I have been served. After 30 minutes of waiting (they told me it would be awhile for the food) they had not brought us chips and salsa or water so I asked politely if it would be possible for us to get some and they kindly obliged. Finally, after the expected 45-minute wait at our table, they gave us a bag food in a in to-go-boxes. I told him how I was extremely clear when I paid that we were DINING IN. He said, he didn't know what I told the other guy, but we are getting it to go regardless. After some confusion I realized they were sending us a message that because we didn't give a tip pre-meal or order drinks we were not welcome to dine in. They were busy with customers waiting to be seated and we were not tipping (or so they assumed) so we were getting the boot. Again, I'm not 100%, but I am pretty sure this is the case. I am bummed that they treated us this way because the food is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. and we would have spent a couple hundred dollars there a month since we eat out several times a week. I guess we will take our business to Delano instead and eat at El Molcajete because it's the same distance.
