This proprietor produces the best applewood-smoked barbecue I ever have had. Since I now am in my 70s, that says a lot. He learned his trade from his father, who used to travel each year from Texas to Minnesota making annual stops along the way. The flavor of the meat is perfect, just as it is. It's not spicy, so you get to enjoy the real flavors. Add to this that he makes the most delicious mild bbq sauce I have experienced, and the combination is winning. Then too, he does have a hot sauce you can add if you prefer to have the top of your head lifted.

On top of that, he adds these perks: A medium-to-large serving size at each portion price point, cole slaw that is crisp and delicious, baked beans that are to die for, sandwiches that are real two-handers, and so on. It's well worth a try. Bring a good appetite, and he will fill it. In short, worth the trip, and worth the price.
