I do not recommend this restaurant. We are from Miami, FL. For the past 4 yrs, my friends & I have dined at Jumbo's Seafood whenever we visited Tyler, Texas. The food has always been good & the prices are reasonable. However, this weekend when we visited it was a totally different experience. I ordered the snapper & scallops (6) combo meal. When the order arrived I noticed the scallops were really 3 scallops cut in half. I complained to the waitress and asked her to inform the manager. When she came back to the table she did not mention nor acknowledge voicing my complaint to the manager so I reminded her again. Minutes later the manager stormed out to confront me, he was incensed that I had made a complaint. He said he was already losing money on our orders because my friend had returned the previous order which the waitress had messed up. I told him that was not our fault that his waitress got the order wrong. I challenged his "6" scallops. He said there were 6 pieces. He tried to explain that scallops come in all sizes, some as large as a pound or more each. I know all about scallops coming in all sizes and it's up to the restaurant to price them accordingly. I countered his scallops were normal size, not large or jumbo. I reminded him the menu clearly states 6 scallops not 6 pieces and this was a misrepresentation. I also told him we come every time we visit Tyler, Texas. He screamed "I don't want your business and never want you to come here". We have never been disrespected like this. We do not want to think it was because we are African Americans. We believe he thought we were trying to get out of paying the tab. We left the waitress a tip, paid the tab & got the hell out of there.
