I have eaten at Club Mecca several times, tonight will be the LAST. After waiting over a hour to have our order taken, it was explained they had had an incident in the kitchen and our waitress had to leave. Ok...understandable. It was also busy being a Friday night and we were ok visiting with our fam. Our order is taken and then another 40 minutes passes. No had come to check on us, refill our drinks or anything. The table next to us had a group of people come after us, order, eat, leave, and new group order. So my brother goes up to check on our order. We were assured it would be next. By this time we are tempted to leave but it was getting late and we were hungry. Plus the food is usually good. Hindsight- it would have been better to leave. The order still took another checking on and way longer than it should to come. It was brought out one by one, half the orders messed up, and me and my boyfriend and to share because they forgot mine completely. We asked for a couple things such as fry sauce and ketchup which the waitress took to the table next to us first. They even said “Actually, I think that table Ordered them first,” and she said she knew she was working on it. We had a different person sent out everytime and over the span of more than 2 hours not a single one of us were offered refills. At least two other groups left because no one had waited on them and another lady had to go get someone to come take her order. The service was lacking to say the least. The manager, Karly, did not comp any meals which should have been the least they did. She did comp 2 beers and the desserts, which is neat since that’s not even legal to do. You can’t comp beer in Utah. She was rude and argued over everything with us saying “well was your food hot?” Completely disregarding that it had taken over 2 hours, 2 people sent up to ask, and 1 meal completely missing. She then told my family we should be ashamed of how we acted. This was uncalled for and unprofessional. We told her the service is what was embarrassing and she told us we were 86. Ok Darling, I assure you thats not a problem as I have no intentions of ever coming back here. The owner of the store then chased us in the parking lot and started saying should be ashamed for speaking to a lady like that. First off, I am a lady...and how is that relevant? We were talking to the manager. He states he is the owner and that’s his daughter. Great! Where have you been?! He then starts to defend saying how busy they were and yada yada, we said yes we know there was a rush but it took us 2 hours to and the service was terrible. He then started making fun of my brother for being gay by flipping his wrist and talking with a lisp mocking what was being said. This is no way to run a business. This is now way to act to people, especially your customers. Being homophobic isn’t just bad for business, it makes you a garbage human.
