I used to be a regular (weekly) here since they opened as I live up the street, but not anymore. I came in with some friends for a late dinner on a Friday night at 10pm only to be kicked out within an hour. We are all of south Asian decent. Between the 6 of us we had a maybe 5 beers and 3 shots. Remember that’s between the 6 of us. I noticed a majority of the staff were new that night as I haven’t seen them there often. All staff but one were Caucasian that we dealt with. We were kicked out shortly after without any warning whatsoever for being to loud and intoxicated.. on top of that, my friends went outside for a smoke, to which we advised our server so she didn’t think we were just going to leave. I even left my card with her and only 3 of us ended up going outside.. to only be accused of using illicit substances (cocaine) and asked not to return inside by a manager who met us outside with my card. They presented no proof whatsoever and when they did look at the video tapes a month later as I kept pursuing the complaint, they saw that one person used a vitamin pen inside near the patio... yes I know that he was in the wrong for that but what does that have to do with the initial complaint? There was nothing on tape that showed anything related to what we were initially kicked out for. And not once was this brought up during my multiple conversation with multiple managers and even the director of communications for the past month until today after they reviewed tapes. So does that just cancel out everything we were accused of and gives them all the rights to treat us not as equals ? A vape is not ok but racial profiling is? Instead of facing the real problem of us being profiled and discriminated against by their staff, I was told that this conversation was not going any further because of a vitamin vape pen and that “cactus stands behind their staffs decision to remove us”. This is a prime example of what big corporations will do to avoid facing the bigger problems we are facing in society. I would avoid this cactus at all costs 👎👎👎👎👎
