After struggling with sleep paralysis for months, I finally managed to scoot down to The Charlatan on Commercial Drive for a solo meal and ended up sipping strong black coffee with some friendly staff while nursing a burnt mouth from a piping hot mug. The food and drink options blew me away, from the lavender lemonade cocktail to the Thai curry mussels, and the vibe is super chill with great service that makes you feel right at home.
