I went with my partner in this bar because friends invited us. Hidden in the Shaugnessy Square its a gem. We asked the owner if he would like us to do a review and he laughed. He said yes, if it is specific.
First of all, the bar offers all kind of sports on the many TVs and 3 big screens. It is the only bar in BC that has Greek menu items. I know that pretty much all bars offer calamari now days. I had the roast lamb and it was unreal. My partner had the beef hamburger and she said it was very delicious. Our friends had the chicken wings and the mini meatballs and the saganaki (goat cheese - a large piece). The prices, are cheap (If you dine in the regular Greek restaurants you would know). The roast lamb was on special for $15 (Regular $17) with the rice and roast potatoes, tzatziki and pita. So the food was excellent.
Our server was very friendly and very organized. The food came out in a timely fashion although it was a little busy at the time. She told us that the bar was having a solo musician comin in - but we could not go that day. She said that they celebrate BDs with the breaking of plates and she invited us to go upstairs and see the whole place.
The upstairs is unreal with games available to play. Huge Oak beans and a large highlight offering a majestic view. Apparently a local artist is doing his work on the premises with his latest art being the Medusa. I mean the visitors must see this. The regulars who we talked to they laughed at our group. "We don't want outsiders" here one person said. We like it the way it is. Wall tapestries break the tone of the bar and they make it unique. I don't think there is any other bar in BC like this one. We will surely come back. And I hope this is a specific enough review.
