This place is now called Ryder's Cafe. My wife and I stopped in for some lunch when we were in Orange VA. I got a Ruben and she got pancakes with bacon. I really enjoyed my sandwich and sauerkraut was slightly crunchy, so it wasn't store bought. I assume it's made on premises, but I didn't ask.
