The food is wonderful. I like the cottage pie and the mushroom swiss burger. My wife likes the pasta with chicken and her sister loves the pork chop. The owners come out and say hello and the wait staff is very friendly. highly recommend the restaurant and all the dishes are excellent. Special call out to the french fries which are different and very good.

Being fairly new to the area, my wife and I have finally tried out and eaten at every restaurant in the Halifax/SoBo area. With that said we have found that Main Street Bar and Grill is by far our absolute favorite place! We went in to try something different for lunch. We were greeted by a wonderful personality who turned out to be the owner. A little while later we were introduced to the Chef. This husband and wife Duo has brought an amazing little spot to our area! The environment was so comfortable as the decor of the dining room is beautifully put together, the music was wonderful and all together made for a very inviting place to enjoy a meal. I ordered a sweet tea and my wife a soda; typical lunch drinks, nothing crazy. We had to try the house Pimento Dip which was absolutely amazing, so creamy and rich of flavor. If there hadn't been others in the restaurant I may have picked up the dish and licked it clean! For lunch, my wife ordered the Cottage Pie and it was a wonderful medly of ingredients that was served in a large deep dish. I did get to steal a bite, but my wife liked it so much that I wasn't able to have a second. I, on the other hand, had the most amazing Mushroom Swiss Burger I have ever tasted! The burger was perfectly seasoned and then when I bit into it the flavors of the burger, the Swiss cheese, and the mushrooms were so equally presented that you could taste each one and... Wow!, did they compliment each other. Best burger I have ever had. Ever! The portions were large and there was no way we would have left hungry by any means. The pricing is very fair when you read through the menu and once you taste what you order from here, you will see how you are rewarded far beyond the price! I'm hopeful that the local community will flow into this gem of a restaurant and keep its momentum flowing as it is a wonderful addition to our neighborhood. Without great detail, my wife and I returned again this week and tried some other dishes. The food was as delightfully good as the first time and we were blessed to be able to spend some time talking with the owners who happen to be from the same area we're from, so we had a lot in common and the conversation and personalities were as great as the food! We highly recommend this restaurant; everyone needs to give it a shot. Five Stars!!!!!
