Amazing food- prepared meticulously and professionally using wonderfully fresh ingredients.
The setting is comfortable and adorable; the service is impeccable; the entire staff goes above and beyond to insure a great dining experience.

Since I live some distance away, I can’t eat at the Red Hen as often as I would like. Of the number of meals I have had there, everything from the seating, to the wine list, to the meals and the service has been thoroughly enjoyable. “Farm-to-table” is carried out perfectly and melds to the season. I have eaten at the Red Hen at different times of the year and in various weather conditions, and I simply can’t reconcile my experiences to those noted by several of your contributors. Since your January 21, 2001, writer claims there are “MUCH better options” I suggest that those few of you of his ilk who are dissatisfied with the Red Hen follow him to the several fast food options available in town.

It was an absolutely dreadful meal. I watched the waiter come out of the restroom without washing their hands. I don't know how the health department doesn't shut this place down.

This is a local favorite. I've been here many times, and I've always been pleased and impressed. The food is farm-to-table, so the menu varies with seasonal availability, which keeps the soups, salads, entrees and appetizers fresh and exciting. The chef and his team bring brilliant and educated creativity to the menu, and the wait staff, who are always delightful, have an incredible depth of knowledge not only about the food they serve, but also regarding wine and drink pairings for any course. And the venue! a renovated small home on a corner lot in the heart of downtown Lexington makes for a charming, intimate setting, with plenty of outdoor seating available for when the weather is warmer. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough, and I look forward to my next opportunity to return.

Loved the food, staff and restaurant! Definitely coming back with my friends and family. It is the perfect restaurant for a date but also for any family occasion. Say hi to Steve for me, because he made my night yesterday!

Had to wait a real long time before my food was finally done, when I got it the staff was real unkind about it. Turns out my food wasn’t even properly done! This isn’t the first time this has happened, I won’t be coming here anymore!
