Chief Heather's has the freshest and best good in Abingdon. I eat there 3-4 times a week and would highly recommend it to anyone. And yes, it is always crowed. But, the food is always worth the wait..

I had eaten at Chef Heathers on two other occasions several years ago. I didn't like it then but decided to give it one more chance today. I will not be going back. Ordered the chicken salad sandwich. It came on very dry toast with no lettuce, tomato, or mayo. The chicken salad was only in the middle of the bread, and we were given no utensils to spread it over the entire sandwich. The sandwich was so small that I left still filling hungry. The dessert choices are lousy and are the same three desserts they have always offered. The service was below average and the chairs we had were uncomfortable. Our waitress acted like she didn't want to be there. It puzzles me why people continue to go back.

Some days I'll order my usual and it's around $9.00, other days it's been as much as $11.00 for the same thing. The food is great but she just charges whatever she wants to. She's got her last dollar from me.

I love Chef Heather's food. Their food is always fresh and well prepared. Their prices are unbeatable. It would cost more for me to eat at a fast food joint. They have large portions and I absolutely love how you can get half salad and half sandwich. When I order out I do have to wait a few extra minutes but only because they are packed full of customers. I have always been waited on as soon as possible. Everybody there's friendly even under the pressure of keeping everybody happy. :) I would recommend their food to anyone.

Went to order a take out . At 11 am., 5 people at counter, assumed the dining areas were full, I was one of 5 standing against the wall. I only saw one person give out menus to ladies sitting at the counter. She never came back to take their order...those of us standing were not acknowledged, no one at the register to take orders. I had heard they were busy, but then they need to hire more help. I walked out and so did the person who stood next to me. Guess the business must make enough money that they don't care for more....

09/30/2010 - disappointed
very disappointed today. I have always enjoyed my previous experiences here, but not today. Service was very slow & it was not that busy as it was late in the- day almost 2 & they are open 'til 4. Out of several things we wanted so we opted for something else. My Monte Cris to Paninni was so cold inside it was inedible, but worse than that the waitress never came back for me to say anything. I would have been happy if it was just reheated, but she never came back - no drink refill nothing; yet she did check on another table multiple times & the owner cashier even came in & told that table all about her recent car accident. When I finally had enough, I went to complain only to be told that they were very busy & the cashier couldn't leave the register to help. When I made a statement about my companions being done with their food yet I had been unable to eat mine & never had the chance to complain as the waitress never came back, I was told, "Well, if you're ready to go, I have your check right here." Won't EVER go back.
