The food here is consistently delicious, with generous portions and a variety of fresh, flavorful options like the BBQ Pork plate, Reuben sandwich, and chicken salad BLT that leave me fully satisfied every time. The staff greets you warmly and provides attentive, friendly service, making each visit welcoming and enjoyable despite the cozy, limited seating area. Located just minutes from Norfolk Botanical Gardens, this small family-owned business offers great value and a laid-back atmosphere that keeps me coming back whenever I'm in the area.

I discovered a hidden culinary treasure nestled in an industrial area, where the warm smiles of the staff instantly made me feel welcome. The BBQ Pork plate I ordered for lunch was generously portioned and bursting with flavor - the collards, green beans, and lean pork with just the right amount of sauce left me thoroughly satisfied. Despite the minor inconvenience of the bathroom being in a separate building, the overall experience was delightful and I can't wait to return for another delectable meal.

Shrimp Po' Boy: Was horrible. Very dry. The shrimp was over-breaded made to look larger; barely larger than salad shrimp. The Voodoo sauce was a thin dribble hiding under the breaded shrimp; barely enough to taste so why bother advertising as part of the sandwich. The bun was just okay.
California Cobb Salad: Very disappointed because the ingredients make is sound so good - not here! Barely any bacon and bleu cheese crumbles, and the chicken was terrible. It was dry and shredded - why not use juicy marinated chunks instead of dry shredded? Kudos to those who find this food worth spending their hard-earned money on. This place is definitely not for me.

Every time we have eaten here all I hear is um yummy um yummy lets eat there everyday! We work for HRSD and everyone that I hear from about The Black dog speaks highly of the place. Thanks for all your doing to keep us fed and happy.
