The food is flavorful and generously portioned, the staff and ownership are friendly and accommodating, service is generally fast and consistent, the restaurant is clean with bright lighting and colorful walls, parking is convenient, and the overall experience is pleasant and satisfying, making it a favorite for delicious and well-prepared Mexican cuisine.

The restaurant had good food and friendly staff, making for a pleasant dining experience. The portions were generous and the service was efficient, despite the bright lighting in the colorful setting.

Although I'm not Mexican or even Hispanic, I was raised in a small town in Central California where the only 2 sit-down restaurants in the whole town were Mexican places. My mom cooked tacos at home about once a week and I consider myself to be a better than average cook of Mexican dishes as well. That being said, to establish my street cred as a Mexican food critic, I have to say that Patron has THE BEST Mexican food on Whidbey Island and would easily make it on to my all-time top ten list of favorite restaurants of any ethnicity. It just doesn't seem to be possible to find anything on their menu which is not wonderful. I have pointed out to friends that, in most Mexican restaurants when ordering a combination, I tend to leave behind most of the rice. Well, I have to say that at Patron, even the rice is so perfect that I end up taking the remainder home with me if I can't finish it. So much for the food. Then I must say that they have a couple of waitresses there (2 sisters) with memories so good that it blows my mind. It doesn't matter if I haven't made it in for 2 months, they instantly remember me, know what kind of beer I like, always get the orders perfect and never need to write anything down, even if you are with a large party of 6 or more. As if that's not enough, they have the finest Mexican beers on tap, served in giant mugs!
