Yesterday I ordered a ranchero and a Nashville hot for take out. We’ve had both sandwiches before. This time they were no good. Not at all like we had before. This isn’t the first not great experience we’ve had getting take out here. Inconsistent.

The fried chicken is terrible. The positive reviews must be from friends and family members because my chicken was cold in the middle and tasteless. And I waited 40 minutes for it. I should’ve read the Yelp reviews before trying this place because they are on spot. My wife had the bow tie mac and cheese. It was pasta with salt and pepper. Of course the service is friendly, they have to give you something. The cook forgot to put the frozen biscuits in the oven and gave them to me cold rather than have me wait another ten minutes is the only good thing that happened from our take out there. I didn’t want to post a negative review, but then read the other reviews that mirror our experience...and had to say something because the menu is so limited how hard can it be? And it’s not cheap.

The food is great, the place is clean, the owners I’m assuming husband and wife team, are very nice, but the execution needs to be improved it’s too long of a wait. It’s new and I hope it succeeds. The sandwiches are generously portioned.

The food: The sandwiches I’ve had (the original crispy, the farm, and the ranchero) are solid, the bites (I had mild) are good, the cole slaw is delicious, the fried chicken isn’t worth the wait. I know they are making it to order, but it’s not as good as the stuff they do well.

The atmosphere: The interior has actually improved over the few times I’ve been there. It’s becoming a cute place to sit and eat. It’s clean.

The service: The woman who works at the counter gives a great vibe. She took the time to mute the sports and turn up music when she saw my boyfriend and I were on a date. Last weekend, when we were walking past Pleasantville Chicken on our way to Taqueria, we saw her sitting at the counter and went in there instead! It was busy, but she still came over to say hi. The cook was throwing the f bomb, which seems unnecessary.

Overall: A cute place in Pleasantville for a casual uncomplicated meal. A great location on the corner of Memorial Plaza.

I’ve had 2 sandwiches, the original crispy and the chicken Caesar wrap. Both great. And I like how they serve the milkshakes in to go coffee cups.

The wings are the best I’ve had. If you like hot ask to have them tossed in the Nashville Hot sauce. Also try the Nashville Hot sandwich—it’s delicious. The place is clean and and casual. The fried chicken is made to order, so it takes a few minutes but is worth it.

I love this place. Their Nashville hot sandwich is amazing, as long as you can handle a little spice. Even better though, is there fried chicken which is literally the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Always so tender.
