Poppy's Deli in Mount Vernon serves up the best jerk chicken in Westchester County, and it's definitely worth a try. The portions are generous for the price, and the flavors will keep you coming back for more. The atmosphere might not be fancy, but the food speaks for itself - especially the jerk chicken and roasted corn.

Today was in the mood for jerk chicken, stop by the deli, they had a smoking pan outside and it looked official.
I ordered the small chicken and asked for a side of cabbage...he asked would I like a meal. I declined. I went to pay and was told $12. I explained that was incorrect and that I had small chicken and a side of cabbage. The cashier rudely exclaimed" he put it in the same plate, its a meal". I made a mental note, paid and left
Got home AND FOOD WAS A DISSAPOINTMENT. There was only enough sauce to cover 1 piece of chicken, the rest had no salt, barely seasoned and tasted like it was just plain grilled chicken. No hint of jerk seasoning or salt!!!!
SAVE YOUR MONEY, EAT ELSEWHERE, sk much for my Sunday jerk chicken treat. If you have poor customer service at least serve delicious food! Will never visit again!
