Staying in the historic mansion once owned by Senator Henry Gassaway Davis feels like stepping back into a beautifully preserved era, where carved furniture and vintage decor tell stories of the past. Though modern conveniences are limited and the dining options have become more modest, the charm of the architecture and the warm, attentive student staff create a memorable and welcoming atmosphere. Enjoying a quiet morning on the verandah with a simple continental breakfast, I found this experience both peaceful and steeped in the rich history of Elkins.

This historic inn, once the summer residence of the school's founder, offers a unique glimpse into the past with its beautifully preserved decor and rich history. The cozy rooms are clean and comfortable, while the friendly staff provides a welcoming atmosphere that makes for a pleasant and memorable stay.
