Strongly think twice before eating here, particularly later at night. I went there twice within a week and a half, the same girl was working. Although she puts on a fresh set of latex gloves, between dealing with a new customer, she DOES NOT wash her hands!!! If that is not troubling enough, she is handling paper money which is known to be one of the dirtiest things that is commonly handled and that filth is on her hands - the same unwashed hands that have now picked up, handling those new, fresh pair of latex gloves and are now handling your sub bun and dipping into all the vegetables. Can you say CROSS CONTAMINATION with a side of food poisoning?
On the second visit, July 14, 2020 at approximately 4:30 am, I witnessed this same employee using her cell phone while she was serving the customers ahead of me. She repeatedly handled the phone, entering information on it while in between sticking her hands into the various vegetables and handling the customer's sub. She had placed and kept her cell phone on the prep counter right in the same spots where she was placing the subs. She DID NOT remove her latex gloves at all as she handled her phone and the customer's food. After she finished with the customers ahead of me, she did not even bother to wash her hands.
Numerous times I had to ask her to not use her phone or handle it while preparing my sub.
Absolutely unacceptable and worse, the owners are definitely aware of this matter. I filed a complaint with MB. Health and Safety and the inspector called me when he was at the location. The owners were denying what happened, up til I emailed the inspector the pictures I took with my cell phone.
There is absolutely no excuse for this kind of behavior, particularly in the food service industry. You can't tell me this person didn't know any better. Makes me wonder if she even bothers to wash her hands or wipes her rear end after going to the bathroom.
In these times of COVID-19, her actions have the ingredients to make someone deathly sick and at the very least, a good dose of food poisoning.
Shame on her and shame on the owners for not dealing with this. She is still working there. Never again will I go to this location and I urge to you do likewise.
I also filed a complaint with Subway's Corporate Offices, no one has even bothered to respond or follow up - first class Subway, first class... NOT!
