While this place wouldn't survive 6 months in Chicago, for this area (NW IL/SW WI) it is one of the very best Italian restaurants. Their sauce is distinctive and obviously homemade, as there is some variance each visit. We mostly take out, but have eaten it. One drawback involves the management: waitresses have to handle the carry-outs as well as their tables. Sometimes this results in downright poor service. We have walked out after waiting 15 minutes to get a menu, water, or bread. And waited a long time for take-outs a couple times, although take-out service is usually good, although at the expense of the diners-in. I used to live in the heart of Chicago's "Little Italy" and will say that some of their dishes are worth driving for--we don't live in Brodhead, but this place has better Italian food than anyplace in Freeport, Rockford, Monroe, Beloit-Janesville, maybe even Madison. Like I began with, in Chicago they would be average--out here they are an oasis for lovers of Italian cuisine--they do much better than just a pizza joint. I would and do recommend them to a friend.

Use to be good but now they don't barely put sauce on pasta or pizza, give one thing of bread when you should get one with each dinner since your paying for it, sides are smaller like cottage cheese and you have to pay for every container which is not in price
